Mahit is also hiding a secret technology from her station that gives her an advantage but might also put her in danger. In there she will have to face a society full of political intrigue, avoid war and the annexation of her station whilst also trying to discover what happened to the previous ambassador and survive this new society that seems obsessed with throwing challenges in front of her, a society that is as dangerous as it is seductive and enthralling. In «A Memory Called Empire» we follow Mahit the newly arrived ambassador of her mining station to the multi-system Teixcalaanli Empire. This is a great space opera that always keeps you invested in the story and waiting to find out more. This novel is the debut for the author and is an incredible space opera that, quite frankly, is astonishing as a first novel. A book that is reminiscent of some of the great classic science fiction stories and yet brings a new and different twist, alongside a setting that is very different to other stories.

However, I finally sat down and started reading the book and all I can say is that I really regret not reading this book sooner. One of the books that has been in my “to read” list for quite a long time is «A Memory Called Empire» by Arkady Marine, a book that came to me with very good reviews and despite me owning it for quite some time, for some reason or another I never got around to reading.
